3 best TV apps for Android and iOS phones
Television continues to play an important role in our day to day life. While some of us try to catch the latest Game of Thrones episode before it is being dissected on social media by our friends others try to watch the latest season of America’s Got Talent. We are so fortunate that there are thousands of channels covering all sections — from news to entertainment, lifestyle to reality, wildlife to motors etc. We are again spoilt by our mobile phones which give us easy access to all these shows.
In this section, we will try to list out the best TV apps available for both Android and iOS devices.
1. TV Guide (Free)
I’m sure you remember the old TV Guide magazine. Well, this is their new version for the smart generation. Like any advanced system, the app has many things which the magazine could not. It has all the up-to-date listings for your favourite channels.
You can use the app to follow shows whenever new updates arrive, search shows by title or even by time. In addition you can see which shows are trending. This way you will not be left out of the latest and hottest shows.
TV Guide is totally free. You can download for both Android and iOS devices. You can even install this app on Apple Watch.
2. Netflix (App is Free, but you have to subscribe with a fee of $8.99/£6.99 a month)
The Netflix app offers you unlimited streaming access to thousands of hit shows, blockbuster movies and exclusive series like “Orange is the New Black”, Marvel Comic’s “Daredevil” and “BoJack Horseman”.
Netflix offers users the power to enjoy watching shows directly to their mobile device or streamed via their AirPlay to a TV if you have an Apple TV or directly to Google’s Chromecast if you are an Android user.
3. Roku (Free for Android and iOS)
The worst thing every television owner well-feared is losing a remote. Many smart TVs are now so smart that you cannot use manual means to even change the channels and increase the volume. To meet such a situation, Roku free app was launched.
This app turns your smartphone into a smart remote automatically, complete with features even your remote control don’t have — like voice search rating of channels and a fully functional keyboard. You also have “to watch” feature which can notify you whenever new movie is arrives in the marketplace.
However, the minus side is that you will require a Roku device or a Roku-enabled TV.
